Municipal & Commercial Water supply

AWS currently provides analytical support for some of the largest drinking water supply systems in the mid-Atlantic region. Because of the level of regulatory involvement with these systems, communication with laboratory personnel is critical.

Our project management staff work closely with operators to establish sampling plans that minimize obstacles like short holding times and logistical concerns. We can also notify our clients of any exceedance in real time, giving operators as much time as possible to initiate corrective actions.

Finally, we offer customized data deliverables that can be reported directly to state regulators by the laboratory.

School systems

As the concerns regarding infrastructure grows, analysis of drinking water from schools has become more common; this is particularly true for lead and copper.

Our staff are familiar with the EPA Guideline 3Ts for Reducing Lead in Drinking Water in Schools, and we have worked closely with a number of school districts and engineering firms to evaluate supply systems and address any failures.

At the minimum, private wells should be monitored annually for the presence of Total Coliform / E. Coli. Homeowners with aging water supply systems may also benefit from metals testing, specifically for lead and copper.
